According to the statistics of China mould industry association, in 2018, China's mould exports reached US $6.085 billion, an increase of 10.8% over the previous year, accounting for one quarter of the total global mould exports. The exports spread to about 200 countries and regions around the world. The top five export markets were the United States, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and Mexico; Mold imports of US $2 billion 140 million, up 4.3% over the same period, accounting for 1/8 of the total import of global mold, and the top five markets in Japan, Korea, Germany, China, Taiwan and the United States.
Mold is known as the "mother of industry". According to the research of China mould industry association, the consumption of 255.5 billion yuan of Chinese mould in 2018 can support the country's 28 trillion yuan of industrial manufactured products. It is an important part of "made in China" and plays the role of "behind the scenes hero" from "great power and heavy weapon" to the improvement of people's life. Taking the automobile industry as an example, the dependence of automobile manufacturing molds has exceeded 90%, and more than 95% of China's mold enterprises are involved in automobile molds.
According to statistics, in recent years, Chinese mold enterprises have accelerated their "going global" and completed more than 20 related mergers and acquisitions, with a transaction amount of nearly US $7 billion. The main direction of mergers and acquisitions is the intellectualization, electrification and lightweight of molds.
